Everything is Energy

April 18th, 2010

It is amazing how a book can change your life. In June of 2009 I stumbled upon the book Traditional Chinese Medicine: A Natural Guide to Weight Loss That Lasts by Dr. Nan Lu on Amazon. I felt compelled to buy it and I had no idea of how much it would impact my life.

For the past seven months I have had the incredible honor and privilege to be studying Qigong under the guidance of Energy Master Dr. Nan Lu. Through my Qigong practice I’m able to experience what Dr. Lu means when he says:

Everything is energy.
Energy has consciousness.
Consciousness has a purpose.

I recently completed Dr. Lu’s Dragon’s Way® Instructor Training program and I’ve begun my Medical Qigong training under his guidance. I’m thrilled to be offering The Dragon’s Way program in Reno and Carson City starting in May.

The Dragon’s Way is a powerful stress and weight management program that uses Wu Ming Qigong, an ancient self-healing energy practice, foods for healing, and an understanding of how to tap into an individual’s own healing ability to achieve balance in the body and overall good health.

I want to share with you this amazing video of Dr. Lu at Stonehenge demonstrating the last energy posture of The Dragon’s Way program called Dragon Standing Between Heaven and Earth.

Enjoy!

Giving Thanks

On this Thanksgiving day, I am thankful for all the amazing relationships I have in my life. My family, my friends and my cats Zack & Adobe mean the world to me. I feel that our relationships are the most important aspect of our life. It starts with our relationship with ourself and extends to our relationship with everyone else. We are all connected.

I am also grateful to have the honor and privilege to work with all of our wonderful clients (Bob Burg, Bret Simmons, WE of the World, Whiskers and Paws Catering, VO-C-O’s Automotive, Richard Armstrong, The Barrel Rack, North Crossing Solutions, and Next Level Executive Coaching to name a few of our current clients). Working with them has helped me grow and become a better businesswomen.

I am grateful to my father for encouraging my independent spirit and to my mother for sharing her love for musicals. My favorite musical is The Sound of Music. We watched it every year while I was growing up. I haven’t watched it much in the past ten years and I’ve decided to start the traditional of watching it during the holidays. I’m off to watch and sing … “The hills are alive with the sound of music…”

Making Others Greater

November 16th, 2009

Dixie Gillaspie in her Pure Synchrony blog post Believing in Greatness shares a delightful story and wonderful insights about the power of believing in yourself and in other people and how to make others greater every day.

Today a Facebook post from a friend I share with Gill Wagner and Bob Burg and whom the rest of you really ought to have the pleasure of getting to know – horticulturist, musician, foot-massager and humor-lover, Heather Williamson, really brought the lesson home.

Her Facebook status today said “What if you made others greater, every day?

She does, I’ve seen her do it. And Gill Wagner does, and Bob Burg does, and Scott Ginsberg does and all those other supporters who told me in so many ways “I believe in you” do. It’s what they all have in common – they make others greater because they believe in the greatness of others.

They embody The Go-Giver Law #4 – the law of authenticity. They really believe and they share that belief so sincerely and so freely that the people around them can’t help but be greater. What I had to learn was Law #5 – the law of receptivity. I had to learn to breathe in the gift they offered and LET it make me great.

What does this mean to you? It means you CAN make others greater, every day. You have that power. And it means you can BE greater by accepting the gift of other’s belief in you. You have that power too.

I think we can be a mirror to help others see their greatness and the gifts they have to share.

The Law of Authenticity

November 16th, 2009

This past year has turned out to be an incredibly transforming year for me. Authenticity has always be very important to me and this year it has become even more so. In one of my favorite books The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann, they share the Five Laws of Stratospheric Success. The fourth law is The Law of Authenticity.

The Law of Authenticity
The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.

Of the five laws, it is the Law of Authenticity resonates with me the most.  Unfortunately, we live in a culture that does not value authenticity. So although it will not be easy, I want to take the path less traveled and authentically share myself and my gifts with others. It is the quality of our relationships that really matters.

My First Post

November 15th, 2009

Well I’m finally writing my first post. I’ve never considered myself a writer. I prefer having a conversation instead. I build websites and WordPress blogs for a living, but I just did not want to take the time to build my own. Kind of like the cobbler’s kids with no shoes.

After hearing Dr. Bret Simmons speak at the Sparks Chamber of Commerce Business Forum in October, I saw blogging from a different perspective and knew it was time to start my own blog. To hold myself accountable, I decided to take Dr. Bret Simmons and Ronele Klingensmith’s class on Personal Branding with my friend Gwen Pradere. And I’m so glad I did.

In my blog I will share what I’m learning about energy, authenticity and relationships. So stay tuned.
